This weekend I’d like to challenge all parent coaches to not coach from the sideline. Instructions, substitutions and praise are all fine. However let's try to just let the players play. I know this is easier said than done and sometimes as a coach/parent you cannot help yourself, but let's all aim to let the players just ”play”. Let's allow the game to be the coach. Creating space for players to make their own decisions and make their own mistakes is the greatest coaching tool we have as coaches and parents. Again, by all means cheer, praise effort and applaud good play!
