The second round of the State Cup was played against North Babylon in Long Island. We can talk about the cold, wet day and the long drive but what concerns us is the game itself. We tried to quickly erase the memories of the past weekend where we lost against Cosmos and won a game almost without deserving it and playing below our level.

The opponent had very strong and fast players that never lowered their guards. Their aggressiveness slowly tilted the field for them. We had a hard time recovering the ball and keeping possession. Our players looked very static and did not find a way to check to other players and to protect the ball when no options were available.

It becomes very easy to point out weaknesses in this type of games so it's not fair to our players. Instead, I would like to point out the leadership of our most experienced players that tried to lift the rest of the team and tried hard until the end. We cannot stress enough the importance of staying in shape, working individually to be able to perform better as a team. Soccer is not a pastime and it's a sport that needs dedication, self-respect and sacrifice among other qualities. It can take a lifetime to achieve them so for the serious players, soccer should be a life style.

As a final thought, a loss does not mark as a losing team. The beauty of this game is that there is always another game so we cannot afford to give up. All players are expected to quickly recover and put all efforts in the next game, where everything starts again.

I think that we did not try and get to the ball as hard as they did. I think that we we scared of sticking our foot in so that we might get hurt. It was a game that we did not have much control of the ball and that we should think about for the next games.

We played a tuff team that was aggressive and played hard. This team wasn't a lot better than us but when we got into to chances were either team could have gotten the ball they used their body and got the ball.

In this game, I think that we proved to ourselves that every single member on our team should work on their own and that we all have to be on the top of our game. If our touch was much better, then we might not lose the ball as much to a fast team.

This game could determine our physical condision and our resistance on the field. We our passing was pretty good but we waited for the ball to come to us, instead of checking for the ball. We didn't have alot of oppoutuinuties to get to there other side of the field since they were really aggresive. We played an ok game just not the highest.

This game was a challenging one for us because the team we played were a lot more physical than us which provided some problems for us. Some of the players on the other team were individually skilled and managed to get past us in the first half.
In the second, we gradually started to be more aggressive which helped us contain them and stop them from penetrating in our 18 yard box. We progressed a lot during the whole game.

the game was really one sided in the first half. we didnt know what to expect and we couldnt stop their forwards. our playing gradually got better, and i thought we played well towards the second half. we were making combinations as well as runs from the forwards.

I thought that this game was a bit weird. Yes they were strong and fast but we really could have caught up to them. We just needed to be a bit more physical and push harder. I think it just came down to who made the best of their chances. They were able to finish the ball unlike us who aren't able to decide when to shoot. Also our pressuring was quite weak. They had tons of time to get back, and prepare for attacks. I think we played so-so and could have done better.

We didn't deserved the loss. Unlike the previous game against the Gold team, we helped each other out, we were pressuring and checking. The only thing we didn't do were the runs for the attacking.
Their only good player was Number 9, the player who scored 2 goals and made the corner kick to the teammate who scored a header. We couldn't score because of the runs missing, and because their players were very strong and fast.
Our defense was good. I really liked that almost all the players played at the D, because they knew their job and helped the team to get scored less goals.
We had a nice State Cup game (even if we played 2 games), and will be better next year.

this game was pretty difficult because one we weren't physical enough. Two, it was freezing out there and three we weren't making that much passes and we weren't pressuring enough. I think we deffinetly had a strong defense because they could have scored a lot more goals than they did. But all in all i think that we did good this game but we could have done better.

This was an interesting game. Our opponents were strong and fast. They just played the game better than us. At our peak however, we could have beaten them. I do not know why we weren't at our best. We were on turf and most players were there. It was cold but that shouldn't be a problem considering we have Under armor. Overall we played well, just not our best.
