We attended the Winter tournament at Queens College on a Friday night and played four games. Although we ended the day with a 1-3 record, we had many high points. The tournament had an unusual format, 7v7 on an indoor wood floor facility but surprisingly, the games were played with regular balls, not futsal ones. Players from every team were having a hard time controlling a ball that bounced easily and made the stronger teams prevail.

There was a mix of teams, from the ones that played long balls focusing on a stronger defense, to a team like Albertson, that not only ended up winning the tournament, but played with a style that we identify with. Coincidentally, our best game was against them. With the game 0-1, we were very close to tying it and closed them down for quite some time. Unfortunately, we couldn't maintain the pressure throughout the game and ended losing 3-0 with two counterattacks. We experienced many new things: a team that didn't play defensively and took good care of the ball and did a job much better than us and played with more patience. We faced a team that we could say we respected and was a pleasure to play against.

We left this tournament with this high point. There are many improvements to make especially in a better function of the team. We need all players to stay motivated and and work hard on individual skills to be able to maximize our practice sessions. Let's stay sharp.

I believe we had a good tournament and we tried our best. We did had some difficulty controlling the ball in the air and having to play 7v7 in the field. We played with lots of guts and made some amazing play during the game. Unfortunately we had had some small mistake that cost us the game. I agree with all the comments my teammate gave like the different style of team, good through pass and tactics, the tight space gave our team some technical difficulty in the field. I mostly agree with what Arun quoted "Working our hardest is the key for the future" but if we come to the next tournament i think we will be ready for the new challenges that lie's ahead.

Each game we played showed use a different style of opponent. The first game played we played showed use a team that was weak but passed the ball to one of two of there good players. The second team was fast strong and could put the ball in the air. The third team had tough players and could pass well. Because of the three teams, we now know how to defend different teams. (I am not sure if I got the order of the teams right)

I think that the game's that we played in queens were alright. We made simple mistakes that affected us a lot (because of the tight space). Our pressure was really good, our control was alright and our passing was not so great. It would help a lot if we worked more on tactical things and on our touch on the ball. Overall everyone did pretty good.

These games were the first ones inside and in 2012. As we did during the CJSL 2011 season, we needed to work together, and show the skills we've been practicing this last month.
Indoor fields were smaller, with only 7 players per team and only 20 minutes a game. As a team, we need to keep possession of the ball and to pass a lot. We also needed open space to create the game. As Adolfo says, we need to built the house. First with the bricks (pass and create the game), add the roof (tactics in offense) and the less important pieces (finishing). The defense can be told as if we were dismantling this house.
The first game was against an easy team, but we lost because of one mistake. The second game was once again against an easy team, and we won because of our tactics. The third game was unlucky, and we played against the hardest team. But we wanted our game to compared to their game. We were also unlucky in the fourth game.
Overall, we had a good tournament, and we don't have to forget that if we practice a lot and work on our own, we can improve our skills.

I think that we did not have that bad a game. Though our passes and tactics were not always great, we held our own through most of the tournament. I also think that we had some good through balls.

I think we overall played well, but there were still some room for improvement. First of all, we did not control the ball to well and it was bouncing around the whole game. We could have made major improvements on out technique (me especially), our ball handling, and our drive to win and try hard. We definitely could improve that too. The only reason we did not go 4-0 was because of all of these simple mistakes. These are easy things to fix and I think that if we fix them, we will be a much better team.

I think it was a little bit of a challenge coming from a break of soccer, and considering the circumstances of the big field and regular outdoor ball that we weren't to experienced with. Our first game was pretty close but we were punished by my mistake, although we dominated and played an average game. 2nd game was played excellently by everybody, we had some nice plays and good teamwork in the defense and offense. Our third game was a big challenge because we played a more advanced version of us and that also probably had more experience. The fourth game was a little unlucky and at the last minute we were severely penalized for it. We probably should have finished a little better. Overall, great tournament with a lot of new lessons to learn from. I think what Adolfo said was very true, we should all practice hard by ourselves to help ourselves and the team develop. Hopefully, by next year we'll play like the team that we lost to in our third game.

I think that we did not have enough of the indoor training down. We were good at putting pressure, but when they got passed us, we did not recover well. I think we get too predictable. We start as a usual game, but do not switch up our plays! We always just check to alex in goal to the sides. I noticed that the opponents were waiting for us to pass it to a defender. Our pass back plays and safe plays will not do. We need to be more aggressive, and push when we counter, not fall back. We do not make the most of our chances whether it's a small mistake or a big one, we mess it up. I'm not saying we do this all the time, don't get me wrong, I've seen us make some amazing plays, but we haven't worked that much on our flaws. We are beginning to communicate better, but it needs major improvement! We pass back and the defenders aren't ready for it and them BAM GOAL on us. I think we tried hard, but we definitely need to work on our skills, all of us including me.

We had just come back from a large break of competitive games when jumping into the tournament at Queens College. Our practices weren't as tactical, but more of us plying futsal and working on our touch along with other small details. Our first game was almost a wake up call. Even though we lost, we had many high points, but we were punished because of tiny mistakes. From the start, the two wings were making combinations just the finishing was not there. Overall, it was a good game considering it was our first of many. Going into our second game was difficult after coming from a loss, but we pulled through for the win. We played our usual passing game which resulted in our win. Two beautiful finishes bye Michael and Francois were the only goals of the match. Going into our third game was much easier than the second coming from an easy win, but the team we played was very skilled. They were basically the better version of us and what we always try to play like. They beat us easily. Some positive notes for our side was the pressuring from the forwards. We put the opposing side into some difficult situations, and we had very good chances because of our pressure, but our finishing was not there. The fourth and final game was late at night and we were all tired from the previous games. None of that showed at all because we played with everything till the very end. Although we didn't win, we played a solid game. Their game winning goal was a miscommunication between the defense and the midfield, bu never the less, a small mistake. Moving forward, this tournament showed us how the smallest mistakes affect us the greatest. WORKING OUR HARDEST IS KEY FOR THE FUTURE!
