The Academy provides training by our professional coaching staff. Focus will be on the fundamentals of soccer in a setting that nurtures healthy and positive attitudes both on and off the field.
GGFC and DUSC are committed to combining skill development and passion for the game. Lesson plans develop each player’s technical and tactical skills in a friendly, fun and professional environment. Players will learn the various components of the game in preparation for Travel League soccer at U10.
The clubs strongly believe that it is in the best interests of children ages U6 - U9 age to play soccer in an academy program comprised of intensive training sessions and small-sided games. This allows players to develop their appreciation of the game without undue pressure of inappropriate levels of competition.
During the Winter season (begins December 6th), the Girls Academy will hold one training session per week on Thursdays at 4 p.m. at Pier 40's Indoor field, and one session for intra-mural games each Saturday (time TBD). The Winter session introduces your daughter to this style of training and is meant to nurture her love for the game. The fee for the winter session is $400.
During the Spring season (begins March 10th), there will two out-door training sessions per week and one intra-mural game day per weekend. The Spring session is designed to build upon the foundation established in the Winter and take the competitive level one step further. The fee for the Spring session is $400.
Full participation is required for the program. The program is progressive and players will miss steps if they attend sporadically. Participation in the Saturday intramural games is an integral part of the program.
