Philosophy:DUSC’s Recreational program has a simple philosophy: teach younger players the fundamental technical skills in a supportive team environment where the emphasis is on fun and creativity.
Our coaching methodology is closely aligned with leading international coaching organizations, such as USSF (United Stated Soccer Federation), FA (The Football Association), FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association).
The younger age groups coaches focus on developing correct technique, encouraging creativity and building player confidence on the ball. Through small sided (3 v. 3 or 4 v. 4) soccer games using small goals, players develop at an accelerated rate with more touches on the ball, more opportunities to play on both sides of the ball and more involved playing time.
As the players progress through each division simple tactical concepts are introduced whilst continuing to develop technical skills. Players are encouraged to try their hand in all positions without worrying about the score of the game. Having balanced teams is the most difficult but most rewarding exercise that the Division Coordinators and Coaches all work to achieve before the season begins.
Every Fall season is closed with a major celebration for all players, parents, coaches and other volunteers. Awards are given to recognize the player’s achievement.
