Since 1982, Downtown United Soccer Club has been organizing premier Travel , Recreational soccer, with clinics and academies for boys and girls ages 3-19.  DUSC’s inclusive program has a simple idea:  teach a younger player the skills that he or she will need, play them in a supportive team structure, make sure the emphasis is on fun and you will grow strong, cohesive and competitive teams. 

The DUSC Recreational League has fielded intramural coed teams since 1982. As a volunteer organization, DUSC has relied (and been successful in relying) on parent volunteers to coach teams. Mentored by professional coaches DUSC has seen many players improve from beginners to travel team stars!..

DUSC Travel, the most comprehensive program in Manhattan, has brought together Boys and girls teams from U7 through U18. Coached by excellent and dedicated professionals drawn from college and Olympic Development Program teams.

DUSC teams compete in the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League, the metro area’s oldest and best-established League.  DUSC players are eligible for the CJSL Select and ODP teams.  DUSC teams play in State Cup and other regional tournaments.  Summer Training camps are offered both at Pier 40 and at Stony Brook.; some travel players 10 -1 3 years of age are eligible for nine days of training in Florence and Rome with Italian Soccer Federation Coaches at the National Training Center in Coverciano, Italy, home of the Italian National team.

DUSC is based at Pier 40, on the West Side Highway at Houston Street.  Renovations at Pier 40 will give DUSC use of two new regulation turf fields.  DUSC is expanding too!  More than 1,000 boys and girls from all over the city now play DUSC soccer: join the tradition of excellence!

In 2006 DUSC launched the Central City Initiative. Led by Paul Jeffries, the CCI is a soccer outreach program that goes into public schools and teaches the game of soccer to kids for free.

In 2007 DUSC launched  the Gotham Girls Football Club which is New York City's first all-girls elite training and competition travel soccer club program.

Recently DUSC formed an alliance with the New York Red Bulls professional soccer team and their academy.  Under this alliance, the Red Bulls coaches observe DUSC games, give tactical advice and conduct clinics which further differentiated DUSC from all other organizations.

DUSC also launched the Little Stars Academy program which brought professionally coached soccer training to kids ages 3-5 years old.
