Gustavo Palomino
Director of Coaching

USSF "A" License
Head Coach of NY Magic Development Program
C.J.S.L. – Select Team, Head Coach U-10, U11 & U12 Girls
NY Magic – Super Y – League, Head Coach U14 Girls

Palomino received his B.A. in Business Administration, in 1995 from Long Island University. While there, he played NCAA Division 1 Soccer for the LI Team. He played professional soccer for the Puerto Rican National Team during a hiatus from school. After he finished playing for Long Island, he was made Assistant Coach.

Palomino has played an important role at DUSC(Downtown United Soccer Club) for many years. He’s served as Head Coach for many of the girls and boys travel teams. His wealth of experience has made him uniquely qualified to oversee coaching for both the DUSC Boys’ and GGFC Girls’ Travel Programs.

Paul Jeffries

Jeffries is a native of Manchester, .  He moved to the on a full soccer scholarship to Berry College after playing for Oldham Athletic F.C.  Paul captained the college for three consecutive years and led the team to its first national finals appearance in twenty years.  He is a three time All-American and NSCAA first team Scholar-Athlete All-American and was voted conference and regional player of the year.  After a stint at the United States Military Academy , West Point, and a short spell coaching in Italy, he returned to the U.S. as a Regional Director for United Soccer Academy .  During his three year tenure Jeffries oversaw the implementation of travel, recreation and high school training programs throughout New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts.  He comes to DUSC with over nine years of coaching experience.

Jeffries now focuses his time working in youth player development and is the published author of Youth Soccer Player Handbook

Alan Miles
New York Red Bulls Player Development Officer for DUSC

Originally from Southampton, England, Alan has lived in the US since August 2000. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration, a B.S. in Sports Management and has recently graduated with an M.B.A. in Business Administration from Pfeiffer University in North Carolina, where he also played on their NCAA Division II team.

Alan has coached and trained girls and boys of all ages and was a trainer for the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association Centers of Excellent. He holds numerous licenses, both American and British, including:

  • USSF B License
  • USSF National Youth License
  • F.A. Level 1 coaching certificate
  • NSCAA Advanced National Diploma
  • NSCAA National Diploma
  • NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma
  • NSCAA Goalkeeping Institute

Alan is currently obtaining the NSCCA National Youth Diploma and is waiting to be accepted for the NSCAA Premier Diploma and UEFA B License.
